Stocks and Stock Perpetuals are different products. A filled stock or ETF is a security entitlement under New York UCC Article 8. Stock Perpetuals track the price and do not give you the shares. Exchange API notes stay: Redoc, June guide. Tokenized-stock rails stay on Securitize.
Who can use it
Verified Backpack account, supported region, one-time user agreement before the first stock order (button reads Enable Trading, then Preview). Same KYC as crypto. Not available in the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, or Japan, and not on Backpack EU. If Exchange does not serve your country, Securities will not either.

Times are U.S. Eastern. Stock Perpetuals follow crypto futures, 24/7.

Every order at least $1. Quote-based in overnight, pre-market, regular, and after-hours. Weekend uses Backpack's Weekend Order Book. Quotes last a few seconds and refresh on the form. Stocks: no stop-loss or take-profit today. Stock Perpetuals: SL/TP like crypto futures. Stocks: API yes, bots no. Stock Perpetuals: API and bots.
Fees, collateral, holdings
Stocks currently have no separate commission or platform fee. The quote is the trade price. Stock Perpetuals use futures fees. Eligible stock holdings can collateralize perps. Stocks cannot be lent in the lending pool. Cash dividends and corporate-action balance updates are still being worked on for the in-app holdings view. ACATS out is not available yet. Eligible tokenized securities can withdraw to a Solana wallet. Confirm the mint before you send.
Legal stack
Introducing broker: Backpack Securities Global Limited (New Zealand). Clearing: RQD Clearing, LLC. Intermediary: Atomic Vault Securities, LLC. Both of those are SEC-registered broker-dealers and FINRA and SIPC members. Governing law: New York. Traditional holdings are security entitlements. Tokenized form is self-custodied on Solana with a two-way conversion through Backpack deposits and withdrawals.
